Any suggestions for improvements, areas, or bosses. Feel free to throw them out there.

Also, it's still not too late to sign up to my Robot Collab.

I Wanna Be A Flash Sequel

Comments

1. Fix the engine
2. Make it Newgrounds patriotic, like Everything by Everybody. If you are not ripping sprites, you might as well sell it the NG crowd.
3. Once the remove the difficulty from having a shitty engine, make it harder.

here's a suggestion: make something original, and if you wanna go the extra mile make something that doesnt suck

oh wait, you arent capable of either

just watched the trailer and it seemed like you were saying that you were only getting bad comments because people thought it was "too hard" which i hope isnt what you really think

a lot of people make "hard" games and then when people dont like they game they just sit smug and think "heh, i made a game that is hard and it just pissed them off" but really your game just sucked it had nothing to do with the difficulty of it

hope some of this gets through your 13 year old skull

That's funny.

omg

i cant wait :D

The original was too easy. :P

How about more bosses? There weren't very many in the first game.

That's the plan.

I thought it was a great game.

Add the ghost of Gary Coleman.

Too soon i'd say.

Is the gun going to be throughout the entire game instead of the final boss?
P.S. I lol'd at the kid with the phone

Yep.

YAAAAAAY!

To reiterate other suggestions: don't do it. Don't tarnish your repulsion further with this humiliating trash. If you're going to rip someone off you might as well do it well.

I can imagine a bunch of sweaty, obese people throwing their Doritos at the computer screen out of frustration and then stroking their neckbeard later on leaving negative reviews.
Yeah it's not the original but I'm not hating, it had its flaws here and there but I found it somewhat entertaining.
Carbonwater, I have some faith in the sequel, I just have one suggestion though, and that would be to try to disassociate the game with the original's title. Go for it.

Will people ever stop doing "really very very stupidly hard" games anytime soon? It was kind of interesting at first, but it's not a genre you can pull from forever, it's more than dead to me, people like CHALLENGES not random deaths. Those games are plainly memory exercises, you might aswell do a "Simon says" simulator and get a higher score.

I highly, highly recommend the engine be cleaned up, or redone completely. People don't say a game is too hard unless there's a reason it can't be mastered. Everyone loves a good hard game as long as the many deaths encountered are those of the player's fault rather than bad controls, shoddy coding, or ridiculous level design, and IWBTFG had all three. The controls should be maneuverable, the hitTest shouldn't be under- or oversensitive, the character should actually move with the moving platforms, and don't throw in too many near-impossible jumps.

Awww yeah, I gonna get muh ass kicked even further. So what is it going to be, the jump button randomly cancels out, hit detection is going to be even way off, come on give me a hint.

Needs to guest star Gerkinman because i hear hes out of work lately. :(

Also im starting a film fest in Melb, can i count on you for some content?

Sure, if it means throwing some of my old work in there.

A sequel to that crappy game...sweet I loved that game

As an improvement you should add more then one character and give each character a different thing like a example could be like one jump higher but one is faster or something like that

That would make for a horribly broken game.

In this case anyway.

I beat the first fucking game, so I don't care. This is going to be fun

Oh boy, criticism!

Haters gonna hate.

Geez, what the fuck is wrong with you and Night-Mare?
You know damn well the reasons every commenter hated the first game. So take the criticism and don't say anything about it. You ought to know putting a news post like this on the front page asking for ideas to improve would generate a response labeling every huge flaw of the first game, yet you act like the first game was already perfect and you shouldn't have gotten any criticism. Either actually make this game good or don't make it, seriously.

Sure we're well aware of the flaws of the first, just wanted people to throw in their two cents.

Chill out, bro.

lol
