I draws stuff and it creates the illusion of motion sometimes.

Robot Day + Speedcasts

Posted by Carbonwater - July 10th, 2010

Oh hello, happy Robot Day one and all.
It's just disappointing that I have nothing to submit on this day. My robot collab went down the toilet, and it's all your fault. Yes i'm blaming you. I gave everyone the freedom to join and make whatever they want, but it doesn't seem that that's enough these days.

Anyway, on the side i've made a couple of these speedcast video things, essentially me recording myself animating then speeding it up. Just to give you all a glimpse of how the magic works.

Sorry to hear about the collab, carbon, but next time get some of your good animator buddies to work on it. It'd be more tempting to join.

MY FALT.Im sorry :(

I watched your first video (Watching artists work in time elapse is always cool) and I noticed a few things that could really speed up your workflow.

First off, you could use the keyboard to navigate the timeline. > and < bump the timeline scrubber left and right a frame, so your mouse never has to leave the stage. (such as when you are filling in the mouth graphics)

There are a lot of other shortcut keys you can discover to speed up your workflow. I have never learned the keys for different tools, but if you do that too, you also gain a lot more time.

I've gotten so used to the way I do it now, it'd take way too long to change.

u make flash fast

I do.

Sped up videos are always fun

Yes.
