My first collab in which I hosted, check it out!

And I saw Watchmen the other day.
To be honest it was kinda boring, I almost fell asleep in the cinema a couple of times. Don't get me wrong, there were some bad ass moments, but most of the time it just wasn't all that interesting.
Also, blue penis.

Robot collab / Watchmen

Because I really don't have anything to report, and I know you all care so much.

First of is The Robot Collab. It's the first ever collab that i'm hosting, so i'm hoping that everything goes smoothly and no one bails at the last second.

Secondly is my next Mr. D feature, i've wanted to make this for about a year now, and now that I have a tablet I can do so. It's essentially a prequel to all my other Mr. D movies, it tells the tale of how it all became to be and has a decent plot and everything.
I've got Jon to do all the voice acting for it, which is about five different characters, and he's done a fantastic job.
Here's a peek.

Hooray.

I am 21 today

Since everyone else is doing these, I may as well too.
Note that you may not agree with me, but these are the top ten of my submissions in my opinion.

Okay, here we go.

10. Metal Gear Awesome 2.5.
It may not be that great, or that long. But it sure stirred up the most controversy of all my submissions. By a simple addition to the Awesome collection it pissed off more then 100,000 viewers, and it's still getting views and comments to this very day.

9. Pico vs. Piconjo.
Originally panned for a release on Pico Day, but it ended up not making it and I submitted it a week later. Builds up to a dramatic fight sequence and then suddenly ends, some found the humor in it while others were disappointed. But don't worry, i'm planning for a remake this year.

8. [Skull].
Doesn't look like much, but I spent more time on it then you'd think. The skull itself was the easy part, but the background was entirely FBF at 30FPS, I made the walls, ceiling and floor separately so it took me around 3 hours to make.

7. Carbonwater vs. BillDing.
Me and my good pal Bill collaborated in a flash battle. We each had a week to make whatever we wanted. He still says I cheated since I used a song that contained Bill Cosby.

6. Mr. D - Phone.
My Mr. D series always gives me a chance to be very experimentable, and let the audience decide if there is a message if at all. Not even I understand it myself, but I still think it's pretty neat.

5. The Carbonwater Show ep. 3.
First in this series to actually have a decent lengthy plot. And you can never say no to giant singing mounds of poo.

4. Frankenstein Bread Lust
I had a crack at animating to existing audio with Friggin' Chicken and when I had a gap open between movies I thought i'd give it another shot. If you compare the two you can see how much i've improved in a year. And the public sure liked it, won an award and everything.

3. Bill Murray Saves The World.
In the yearly coming of Bill Murray Week, I made this movie. Took me about a week to make, and honestly I thought it would do better then it did. I did a fair amount of FBF work.

2. A Carbonwater Halloween
For Halloween this year I chucked this movie out there. It did quite well, got a score above 4.00, but then it won an award and everyone found out about it and the score plummeted. And that FBF Monster took a while to animate too.

1. Apartment in Space 2.
The most effort of any project that I worked on this year went into this. I would have thought it would have won an award, maybe next time. Apparently my voice acting needs work though, i'll have to improve on that in the next installment.

Also, here's a sneak peek at my next movie.

CHRISTMAS GET

Posted by Carbonwater - November 23rd, 2008

For those that don't know, last weekend I went to a video games expo called eGames. It's basically our version of E3, where they have the latest and unreleased games on display and fully playable.

Yahtzee who does Zero Punctuation was there, even though I didn't get to meet him in person I saw him a couple of times on a stage that they set up. Once when he was wasting time with two other nobodys while they were setting up some Guitar Hero stuff, and another where he was hosting a video game quiz thing.

There was also a fire that apparently happened somewhere in the building. I was just sitting there playing games when I noticed everyone going outside, I ignored it and kept playing and some guy told me I had to go outside. Nothing like 500 nerds standing outside in a parking lot. We were out there for about 5 minutes and then we went back inside.

Anyway, on to the games.

Wario Land: The Shake Dimension
Plays pretty much exactly like the old Wario Land games that were on Gameboy. Side scrolling, jumping, shoulder bashing is still intact, with the addition of a couple of new features like a punch-your-fist-against-the-ground attack and picking up stuff and shaking it, both preformed by shaking the Wiimote.

Mirror's Edge
I didn't exactly know the controls for this, so I pretty much tried to figure them out on my own. Which didn't really work out so well, so I was constantly falling off buildings and eating a lot of barbed wire fences. It is good though to finally see a first person adventure game.

Little Big Planet
I had the most fun out of the possible 40 games that I played that day playing this. Sure at first it looks like a 10 year olds game, but it's really fun and very humorous. I recommend this for anyone that owns a PS3. The only criticism is that the jumping isn't all too good, you can hardly jump to where you want to go which causes you to frequently die.

Gears of War 2
I only got to play a couple of rounds of this, I pretty much treated it like the first game and it seemed to handle basically the same. I did lose on one round because I forgot what the chainsaw button was and I got chainsawed by some kid.

Pure
Pure is the best racing game that i've played in years. Every other racing game is too realistic for their own good and soon as you hit a wall you're done, but this is anything but that. You race with four wheeled motorcycles, use boost and preform tricks. You're rewarded with boost by preforming tricks, the more boost you have the better tricks you can preform. There's four levels of tricks and each one takes longer to preform, so you gotta watch yourself on some of the higher levels.

Buzz! TV Quiz
I've never played a Buzz game before this one, because i've always thought it was too expensive. Looks like i've been missing out, I had a lot of fun with this one and I was very impressed with the character animations.

Fallout 3
This is the last game that I played of the day. I'm familiar with this because i've watched a friend of mine play a little of it. I pretty much just wandered around, killed two dog things and some flying robot that exploded in my face.

There was a ton of other shitty games, but I won't mention them because they were just horrible to play.
Overall is was a pretty good day, i'm rather pleased with how it went.

And now, stuff that i'm up to.
I'm working on two movies at the moment. One is The Carbonwater Show ep.4, and the other is for Bill Murray week which is happening during 7th-14th of December.

eGames rundown + what i'm working on

Posted by Carbonwater - November 8th, 2008

Next weekend i'll be heading down to the yearly eGames Expo.
I went last year and it was freaking awesome, I hope it's gonna be even better this year.

It's held at the Melbourne Exhibition Center and runs from Friday to Sunday.
I'll be there all day on Saturday. I doubt you'll be able able to pick me out among the hundreds of nerds, but you can try your luck.
I'm gonna see if I can get a white shirt and write "I AM CARBONWATER" on it, but that might not happen.

Apparently Yahtzee who does Zero Punctuation is gonna be there, that'd be super awesome to meet him.

For times, costs, events, and other junk check it here.

Come meet me in RL

Just submitted my Halloween submission, go check it.

And now to start work on my final animation for my animation class, i'll be making it over the next three weeks and it's going to be entirely FBF.

New movie + next movie

Posted by Carbonwater - September 10th, 2008

Now that i've finished my latest submission, time to start work on my Halloween movie.
This year i'll be making A Carbonwater Halloween, starring the characters from The Carbonwater Show set out to save Halloween. Mainly because it's never been done before and everyone's always about saving Christmas.

Then after that i'll most likely make something Apartment in Space related, either 1.5 or a game.

Next up..
