Unknown Newgrounds Artists ep. 01

Posted by Carbonwater - April 25th, 2009

Well since I nothing to report mostly in my news posts, I thought i'd do something a little bit different. I thought to myself, how about every week instead of potting around showing off my crap that no one cares about, I actually give something back to Newgrounds. And that's exactly what i'm going to do.

I can't do something like show off a bunch of videos that I think are pretty neat, because that's what Zekey does. So how about telling you all about some awesome artists that don't get the attention that they deserve?
That sounds rather swell, don't you think?

Alright, so this week the artist is going to be an artist that you might know but I only found out about not too long ago, goes by the alias (or possible real name) of Emily-Youcis.
Emily's flashes seem to revolve around a talking dog by the name of Alfred that suffers delusions of it's own mind. Rather intense stuff, i'd put it up there next to David Firth's work. Not quality wise though, but hey, quality isn't everything and I prefer minimalistic stuff anyway.

Her best work in my opinion would have to be the Alfred's Playhouse Trilogy, it's just a shame that she's run a dry spell as of recent with a bunch of movies that would rather be considered spam then anything else. Let's hope she can get back on her game soon.

If you know of any other artists that you think should be featured here, or would like to whore yourself out by getting yourself some fame. Send me a PM, and i'll check out their/your stuff and see what I can do.

'Till next week, peace.

well thats nice, giving some light to other artist... good for you...

It is good for me.

everyone knows alfred
<a href="http://nonezop.newgrounds.com/">http://nonezop.newgrounds.com/</a>
he is amazing he is my life

'Unknown' is stretching it a bit.

I'll be listing people that aren't over rated and don't get instant front page and awards every time they submit something.

I certainly can't dig up artists that no one knows about, that's pretty much impossible.

ME NEXT

MAYBE.

yeah emily is pretty cool

Indeed.

I'm not sure if I'd say she's that unknown. I'm pretty sure the Alfred cartoons have gotten some front page time. Definitely a good animator though.

Oh wells.

Feature me next week, for I am the greatest unknown artist in all the land. Though I don't know which is better. The greatest unknown artist, or the worst known. I'll have to get back to you on that.

Nah, you're not that unknown.

I have some friends in RL that talk about your 'How 2 Suceed on NG' series and everything.

Good idea, dood.
Keep them coming.

Kay.

<a href="http://mykindofflash.newgrounds.com">http://mykindofflash.newgrounds.com</a>

He recently got back into Flash, and his stuff is better than ever, so keep an eye out for him in the future when he starts submitting again
:)

If you wanna know some artists that are really new and unknown, yet pretty talented, here is one.
<a href="http://noxx11.newgrounds.com">http://noxx11.newgrounds.com</a>
Then theres a super talented one that I am a big fan of.
<a href="http://bizerk.newgrounds.com">http://bizerk.newgrounds.com</a>
and
<a href="http://andrew-kauervane.newgrounds.com/">http://andrew-kauervane.newgrounds.co m/</a>
He got a lot of hate for something, but he is still super talented. He won some awards, but none in the top two. I hope that this helps.

Damn it, MrAbnormal beat me to Andrew-Kauervane... I dunno, do one about me. I'm fairly invisible here. :P

ixintro your arent unkown.

i am though. im quite popular but i dont have any awards or front page posts and not really famous.

What about Goat-Man? He's a pretty good artist, and his style is pretty unique.

<a href="http://goat-man.newgrounds.com">http://goat-man.newgrounds.com</a>

I can't think of anyone right now. I can't say what would be enjoyed. I don't know what's hip and with it today.

Stupid kids! Get off my lawn!

Lawn is where all the cool is at.

emily, for a short time, did get a great deal of exposure on the front page. Good find.

me next, or maybe <a href="http://neek.newgrounds.com">http://neek.newgrounds.com</a>

To be honest, those Alfred movies scare me. Some of the stuff is just disgusting, but most of it is just clean/ dirty fun.

Don't run into the fire if you can't handle the heat.

Wachachahcahcha!!

I agree.

<a href="http://oldlyshapedchris.newgrounds.com/">http://oldlyshapedchris.newgrounds.co m/</a>
A young animator, and his LIFE is animation.

He's been mentioned twice before, (easter hunt, what you may have missed)
But he has never won an award, even though his stuff is hilarious!

Oh, and the genious <a href="http://boinky33.newgrounds.com/">http://boinky33.newgrounds.com/</a>
He can make a mute laugh out loud!
His animation skills isn't always top notch, but his stories, jokes and ideas are great! He definently deserves more recongnition!

<a href="http://carbonwater.newgrounds.com/">http://carbonwater.newgrounds.com/</a>

dis ni99a's tight.

Damn straight.
